John Denver became a star through the folk-inspired songs that he wrote, many of which were set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell New Mexico. However, he was enthralled by Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually moved to Aspen. More than a few people took the road through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular songs for his home state. I can't think of any other performer who embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the Hall of Fame's inaugural inductee was recognized by the honor in 2011. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. If you travel with me, you will meet people on the other end of the world. As an example, you might meet someone who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are originally from Colorado the response is "Oh John Denver!" Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with small folk bands. It was co-written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that the track could become an instant hit. After performing to an excited audience at Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
